![]() So far, each season of The White Lotus has served as its own miniseries examining the class and power dynamics among the rich. As for who should come back, I suggest one of Season 2's MVPs: Meghann Fahy (Daphne) or Simona Tabasco (Lucia). The new season could work with or without a returning character, as White has now turned most of the show's viewers into faithful fans, but it would still be a fun detail. ![]() Now, the question is whether Season 3 will even bring back someone from the Season 2 cast, or if that was just a temporary choice to keep fans interested for the former-miniseries' second round. (Yes, there is Greg, but screw Greg.) Coolidge's time on The White Lotus is over, despite White previously hinting that she could return. The Blossom Circle member drowned in the Ionian Sea, leaving the show without its sole recurring character. Now that we know who didn't make it out of Sicily (read our breakdown if you've yet to catch up), we can say ciao to our hopes that Tanya McQuoid will be our guide through the White Lotus chain. The rest of the Sicily-bound cast included Sabrina Impacciatore, Theo James, Meghann Fahy, Aubrey Plaza, Michael Imperioli, and Tom Hollander. Meanwhile, season 2 replaced the entire cast as well as the location, only bringing along Coolidge's heiress Tanya McQuoid and Jon Gries as her new husband Greg. The first Hawaii-set installment starred Emmy winners Murray Bartlett and Jennifer Coolidge, as well as Connie Britton, Jake Lacy, Natasha Rothwell, and Sydney Sweeney. Maybe it would have been interesting to see Albie's father's reaction to his son being played, just like he suspected, but other than that, this was a truly immaculate capper to the season. The past two seasons of The White Lotus have included large casts of Hollywood stars. It was a super satisfying end to an even better season of the genius show, Italy's fountains and volcanoes erupting in perfect climax. Lucia briefly says hello to the now smiling waiter who chased her and the Di Grasso family down in a car, revealing that was all a ruse to convince the three generations of men that she was a hurt puppy in need of rescue. She's already less bitter in life for it, allowing her previous crush Isabella to work the concierge desk with her grateful fiancé, Rocco.īest friends Lucia and Mia swirl down the cobblestone streets Elena Ferrante-style, basking in the glow of their accomplishments. Lucia has had a stellar payday, Mia is living out her dream as a singer and hotel manager Valentina has embarked on her sexual awakening. Unlike season 1, this time it's the underprivileged who take advantage of the rich guests. ![]() As the door is kicked in, Tanya braces herself and squeezes the trigger, shooting anyone who comes at her.įinally, in a nice 180-degree flip, season 2 sees no deaths and an optimistic outcome for the staff of the White Lotus, Sicily. Seizing her one opportunity to save herself, Tanya brazenly grabs her killer-to-be's duffle bag and locks herself in a room. She stalls for as long as possible before Quentin's man arrives to take her to shore and likely murder her on the way. In a truly frightening sequence, a shaking Tanya loses Portia on the phone and has to face a boatful of people who want to kill her. ![]() (Although this isn't explicitly confirmed.) She and her assistant, Portia, conclude that Greg colluded with his ex-lover Quentin to have Tanya killed, because their prenup prevents Greg from taking any of her money if they divorce. The wealthy Tanya did indeed find a picture of her husband Greg and bankrupt British expat Quentin in cowboy hats together. It was always going to stretch credulity having yet another person die at a White Lotus resort, but White chose the wildest and weirdly most believable option. ![]()
